Mehmood (born as Mehmood Ali on 29 September 1932 in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, British India) is Actor, Singer, Film Producer, and Director. He is mainly known for his work in Bombay to Goa (1972), Do Phool (1974), and Andaz Apna Apna (1994). His comedy roles were loved always loved by the audience. He mainly came in comedy roles. Mehmood married Madhu Ali in 1953 and this couple had four sons Pucky Ali, Lucky Ali, Masoom Ali, and Macky Ali. Mehmood and Madhu divorced in 1967. Later he married Tracy Ali and they had three sons Manzoor Ali, Baby Ginni, and Mansoor Ali. Mehmood is the son of actor Mumtaz Ali and Latifunnisa Ali. Mehmood had 03 brothers Anwar Ali (actor), Usman Ali, Shaukat Ali and four sisters Minu Mumtaz (Minoo Mumtaz) (Dancer, Actress), Husseini Ali, Zubeida Ali, Khairunnisa Ali. His brother Anwar Ali is a well-known actor and producer for his work in Khud-daar (1982) and Kaash (1987). Mehmood worked in more than 300+ movies. Mehmood received "Twenty Five" Nominations for Filmfare awards, "Nineteen" for 'Best Performance in a Comic Role', while the awards started in "Nineteen Fifty Four", awards for the best comedian category started only in "Nineteen Sixty Seven". Prior to that Mehmood also received Six nominations for 'Best Supporting Actor'. Mehmood is the person who introduced actor Amitabh Bachchan in Bollywood. Amitabh stayed at his house in Bombay, India for 02 years. He made his Bollywood debut with Kismet (1943). Dushman Duniya Ka (1996) was his last acted movie. Mehmood's roles are still appreciated by the audience. He was one of the best comedian actors in Bollywood.

 

Mehmood Death Reason: On 23 July 2004 at age of 71, Mehmood Ali died in his sleep in Pennsylvania, American where he had gone for treatment of cardiovascular heart disease after suffering from poor health over many years. His fans were able to pay homage to him at Mehboob Studio in Bandra, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
