Joy Mukherjee (born on 24 February 1939 in Jhansi, United Provinces, British India (present-day Uttar Pradesh, India) – 9 March 2012) was an Indian Film Actor, Producer, and Director. He was titled as the 'heartthrob of the 1960s and 1970s'. Joy Mukherjee was the son of Indian film producer Sashadhar Mukherjee and his mother was Sati Devi. His father was a successful Bollywood movie producer and a co-founder of Filmalaya Studios. He has one sister actress Shibani Maulik Mukherjee and four brothers Deb Mukherjee (Actor), Shomu Mukherjee (Director, writer, and producer), Rono Mukherjee (Director and Composer), and Subbir Mukherjee (Producer). His uncles were director filmmaker Subodh Mukherjee, actor Ashok Kumar, actor Anoop Kumar, and actor Kishore Kumar. Joy Mukherjee has completed his school studies at Col. Brown Cambridge School in Dehra Dun, India and he completed college studies at St. Xavier College, India. He married Neelam Mukherjee and they had two sons Monjoy (also known as Toy), Sujoy (also known as Boy), and a daughter Simran. He is mainly known for Love in Tokyo (1966), Door Ki Awaaz (1964), Aao Pyaar Karen (1964), Shagird (1967), and Chhailla Babu (1977). He directed movies like Humsaya (1968), Chhailla Babu (1977), and Love in Bombay (2013). He produced movies like Humsaya (1968) and Love in Bombay (2013). He made his movie debut with Love in Simla (1960). Love in Bombay movie given big financial trouble to Joy he sold most of his properties for this movie. Also, 37 cases of insolvency filed against him but he cleared all of them and started again. Insaaf Main Karoongaa in 1985 was Joy's last acted film.
Joy Mukherjee Death Reason: Joy Mukherjee died on "Ninth March Two Thousand Twelve" in Mumbai Maharashtra India's Leelavati Hospital, exactly 02 weeks after his Seventy Third birthday, where he had been on a ventilator. He had a prolonged illness.
