Himanshu Malik (Born on 21 May 1973 in Sonipat, Haryana, India), is an Indian film actor, director, screenwriter, and producer known for his works in Hindi cinema. He begins his acting career with the film, Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996) and gained recognition with his portrayal of Abhigyan, a wealthy Canadian industrialist in the 2001 romance Tum Bin with Priyanshu Chatterjee. His other notable work includes Ram Gopal Varma's film Jungle (2000), Govind Menon's Khwahish (2003), and Himanshu Brahmbhatt's Rog (2005). Himanshu starts his career in music videos; most notable among them was singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Afreen with Lisa Ray. He later appeared in Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam's Deewana with Gul Panag. Meanwhile, he made his movie debut with a role in Indian-American filmmaker Mira Nair's Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996) and also appeared in director Ram Gopal Varma's horror movie Jungle in 2000. However, his big break came as a supporting actor in Tum Bin (2001) with Priyanshu Chatterjee's lead, leading to work in several small films. His next big feature was Govind Menon's Khwahish (2003), playing the lead opposite actress Mallika Sherawat, notable for its sensuality, bold, and kissing scenes. He turned filmmaker in 2012- writing and directing, 1st short feature - Q.E.D- Quod Erat Demonstradum. QED, a forty-five min short featurette about a detective failing to crack a case, was well received at the festival circuit and by the indie Film Industry. Malik.mov Films Pvt Ltd is a production house that he founded in 2014, under which he has written and directed various music videos and commercial ads content for numerous India based brands. Malik is a Sikh Jaat. He is married to Komal Mailk and the couple has a daughter Athena Malik. He practices adventurous sports like paragliding, flying, and scuba diving. He lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Himanshu Malik most movies are not performed well at the box office but his acting is always appreciated by the audience.
