David Abraham Cheulkar (born as David Abraham Cheulkar in 1908 in Thane, India) is a Film Actor, assistant director, and anchor. David was a Jewish-Indian Bollywood Hindi film actor and a member of Mumbai's Marathi-speaking Bene Israel people community. David's father's name was Abraham and his mother's name was Dinah Cheulkar. David Abraham Cheulkar is one of the most successful actors in the 19s. David mainly came in the role of an old man also at a young age. He did work as an assistant director for some movies. David also used to do anchoring for some events. He also became an Indian Olympic representative. In 1979 David received Padma Shri for his work in movies. He mainly came as a supporting role actor. David Abraham Cheulkar worked in major Hindi movies. David Abraham Cheulkar worked in more than 110+ movies. David Abraham Cheulkar came as a comedy role in some movies. His comedy scenes are loved by the audience. David Abraham Cheulkar acted in so many movies and he was active from 1941–1981. He mainly is known for his films like Boot Polish (1954), Baton Baton Mein (1979), and Gol Maal (1979). In 1995 he got the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award. David completed a Bachelor of Arts graduation degree from Mumbai University. After a 06 year of unsuccessful struggle to land himself a job, he decided to try his luck in the Bollywood Hindi film industry by becoming a professional actor. During these years of struggle, David also managed to obtain a degree in law from Government Law College. Finally, on Fifteenth January 1937, with the help of his close friend Nayampalli, an old Hindi character actor, David landed his 1st role in a film. The movie was Zambo in 1937, and it was being produced and directed by director Mohan Bhavnani. David was born into Indo-Israeli parents from Ashdod. David Abraham Cheulkar debuted in Bollywood movies with Zambo in 1937. David Abraham Cheulkar started his career with small roles then got an opportunity in major comedy roles. He was one of the actors who reached a great position in Hindi movies without a family background. David died on twenty-eight December 1981 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada because of a heart attack (cardiac arrest) at the age of 73. Gehri Chot - Urf: Durdesh in 1983 was David Abraham Cheulkar's last acted film.
